My proudest moment was when I beat a national Champion (Ryan Bugler) in the steeplechase. He dropped out from food poisoning. But in reality, Cross Country regions senior year at SJU, where I watched 3 of my teammates finish a few seconds ahead of me. It was cool to see us all finish so close together and was a real team effort.

I am majoring in Political Science. Political Science was just the major at SJU that interested me the most. I will likely go into a field that involves working with kids. I would like to get into coaching with a high school Cross Country team and find a job that helps others. I've been very interested in social justice, specifically involving race.

I chose St. John’s because I'm the type of person that would have been happy at most schools, so after I visited any school it was my favorite until the next school I visited. I visited Saint John's last. To be clear, I'm very glad I chose Saint John's.

The funniest moment was one day at practice, the world renowned distance coach Tim Miles was coaching his butt off. While coaching his butt off, he noticed a young Tremayne Collins casually adding a mile onto his run as the weather was quite frightful outside. Tim decided that in order to coach his butt off he was required to get down on his hands and knees and scream at Tre to go faster at the top of his lungs while pounding his hands on the ground.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: Any coach but the world renowned distance coach Tim Miles. I've heard all his stories.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: 42. It was simply the first number to come to my head, I'm not sure I actually believe that number.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: World greatest racquetball player in a heartbeat. I've done my research and the world’s best racquetball player makes approximately 300,000 dollars a year. Much higher than 20 dollars right now.

I chose St. John’s because of the community, the outdoors, and quality of academics.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: Joe, because I swear there isn’t a single thing he isn’t good at.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: 73

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

I am an Environmental Studies Major and History Minor. My goals in my major are to leave a lasting impact on SJU with sustainability initiatives. My career goals are to eventually make Environmental Policy at a state or national level. I’m not entirely sure what my plans for after graduation entail. My plans kind of depend on how my internship at the Benton County SWCD goes this summer.

I chose St.John’s because I loved the campus! There was just something in the atmosphere. I could tell there was something special about it. On top of this they have the perfect environment for my major and an incredible staff!

The funniest memories on the team are anytime Nate-dog says some freshman slang. He always gets a funny look from teammates.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: Tim because he has so many stories. It would never get old! Listening to Tim’s stories are like someone reading you the books of their life.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: This might be a stretch, but I’m gonna say 37.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: I feel like there isn’t $20 in being the world’s best racquetball player so I’ll take the $20. On top of that, I’m not sure I’d be able to keep a straight face telling someone that I’m the best racquetball player in the world.

My proudest moment in my career here was running my first college track 5K and 10K during Sophomore year.

I am a Biology major with a history minor. I am also pre-Med. After graduation I would like to attend medical school and become a pediatrician.

I chose St. John’s because when I visited I was met with an amazing close-knit community with one of a kind people that truly help make the place feel like home. It is also arguably one of the most gorgeous campuses in the country. Being surrounded by beautiful lakes and acres of woods truly helps make it special and is another big reason for why I decided to call this place home.

There are many funny memories with the team. Every day at practice is always fun along with the bus rides to meets with the boys.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: Tim Miles, he would have so many entertaining stories.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: One wiener dog...It was one big wiener dog.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: World's greatest racquetball player. Could you imagine the number of endorsements I would get?... Yeah, probably not a lot, but I bet I could make more than $20...Hopefully.

Personal:

My proudest moment in my athletic career is everyday I step into that ring and I throw stronger, faster & further than I have previously.

I am a Computer Science/Pre-engineering Major with a Global Business leadership/Escholars Minor. After graduation, my short term goal is to further my education until completion at Doctorate Level (Doctorate in Technology/Computer Science). My long term goal is to own my own computer firm. I’m driven to explore innovative minds of young computer scientists and innovators and to create newer more efficient means of technology.

I chose to go to St. John’s because it is closely linked with my high school in the Bahamas, and to use this as an opportunity to be a role model to my peers and younger generations back home. I want to show them that a “young Bahamian boy” with the right mindset and opportunities can flourish into someone extraordinary.

The funniest moment for me on the team was when a couple of our team members (especially David) dressed up in clown beach costumes and ran the 4x400 at the alumni meet. They finished first.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: I would choose Jeremy. Seems like a pretty cool guy and has a couple tricks up his sleeve to keep us alive.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: All, because outsmarting animals from eating you alive/killing you is an occasional skill you learn growing up on an island.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: I’d rather be the worlds greatest racquetball player. That way I’d be both rich and a role model to younger kids to follow their passions and strive to be the best at what they put their minds to.

After graduation I plan to earn a master degree in genetic counseling in order to provide services to individuals with genetic disorders and couples planning on having children.

I chose St. John's because of its excellent academics, beautiful campus and arboretum, and positive track team culture. It also--as cheesy as it sounds--just felt like "home."

The proudest moment of my athletic career was probably making it to state in the 4X200 in my senior year of high school. We weren't supposed to make it and we ran a great race and ended up going to state. In college, the first time I ran the 4X400 at conference was really awesome.

I am a Global Business Leadership Major and Communication Minor. The last four years, my main goal as it relates to my major was to apply what I learned in the classroom to situations outside the classroom in order to grow and develop my skills. I have been active in various campus clubs such as Enactus and the SJU Student Senate and always try to apply the things I am learning in the classroom to the tasks I take on outside of class. After graduation, I will be moving to Boston, MA and working for BlackRock as an analyst in retail wealth advisory. I would eventually like to either obtain my CFA certification or go back to school and get my MBA. Long term, I'm not entirely sure what I want to do yet, but I would ideally like to stay in the financial services industry.

I chose St. John's because it felt like home more than any other campus I visited during my college search. You don't really get a feel for what the community is like until you step on campus, but the second I did I understood what everyone was talking about. I was also drawn to SJU because of the vast amount of opportunities I saw to grow as a person and get involved in the community. Whether it was the track team, the education I received in my major or the large amount of campus clubs available to students, I knew that choosing SJU would allow me the best opportunity to get involved. Four years later, I can honestly say that choosing St. John's has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Honestly, the funniest memories I have with the team are the things we laugh about everyday at practice. We like to keep practice light by joking around and laughing together between reps. Even though nothing specific comes to mind, I always know we'll be laughing together about something that afternoon at practice.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: For sure Jeremy. He's listened to a lot of podcasts on survival and crazy stories like that, so I feel like my best chances of living are with him.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: I'm going to go with 100.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: World's greatest racquetball player, hands down. That would be a fun fact to share at parties and I could probably make a little money off of some endorsements or something.

I chose St. John's because of the community. It is a place with great tradition and I am proud to be a Johnnie.

There have been so many funny memories it is hard to narrow it down to just one. If I have to pick one, it is when Mohammed told coach he was coming to practice “sh*tfaced”. He had stayed up late studying and thought “sh*tfaced” meant tired.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: I would have to go with Jeremy because you already know Jeremy has done research and is fully prepared to survive on a deserted island.

I chose St. John’s because I loved the small and spread out campus with lots of places to explore nature and faith life. SJU was the first school I applied to and after considering lots of other options I kept coming back here. I'm also a fan of postcards with big rafts on them.

The funniest moment while on the team was when I let Drew roll me in a large tire during one of my first weeks of practice.

A: 472

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

My funniest memories while being on the team are team interviews.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: No number of wiener dogs could defeat me.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: I would not be able to handle the fame, glory, and paparazzi, that comes with being the world's greatest racquetball player. I would not know what to do with the sheer amount of money I would make. So I'd pick $20.

I chose St. John's because I felt at home as soon as I stepped foot on campus. Other reasons include the beautiful campus, good music program, and coaches I really enjoy (I was not paid to write this...).

My funniest moment so has to be when Mo brought skittles to practice and was eating them during the team warm up.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: If I was stuck on a deserted island with any coach it would have to be Tim Miles. Two reasons for this: The first being that Tim has an endless amount of stories that he could tell to keep us entertained and the second is that Tim knows pretty much everyone so there is a very high chance that someone would recognize/or miss him and find us.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: There would be no fight. Wiener dogs are known as one of the most vicious breeds thus giving me good reason to just give up. Maybe I try to outrun them until their tiny legs gave out?

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: Racquet ball! Easy choice. With my talents and moderate looks, I could easily become the next Gatorade athlete or maybe even be featured on a Wheaties box.

I'll use this experience to inform my decision about what to pursue next.

The reason why I chose SJU is simply put, St. John's felt like home.

The funniest memories are during the team interviews. We've had some pretty good interviews. I especially enjoyed the questions that Charlie Raasch asked. For instance, "What is your favorite flightless bird?"

Q & A:

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: $20. I need a new watch.

Personal:

As far as my proudest moment, I’m proud that I still go to practice every day.

I am an Economics and Political Science Major. After graduation, I plan on going to Law School.

I chose St. John’s because obviously because I hate the Tommies, but seriously because it felt like home.

The funniest moment on the team was when Joe told Ryan he was winning during an easy sprint. Ryan proceeded to cross the finish line with his arms in the air.

Q & A:

Q: Which coach would you pick to live on a deserted island with and why?

A: Jeremy. I guess he vaguely looks like Bear Grylls.

Q: If you were in the coliseum and were challenged to fight wiener dogs, what is the highest number of wiener dogs you could defeat?

A: I will accept defeat at 12.

Q: Would you rather be the world's greatest racquetball player or have $20 right now?

A: World's greatest racquetball player because I could be a club racquetball coach and make at least 20 bucks.
